Welcome to the historical town of Pangani, the land of Swahili culture, where Arab and colonial tradition blends with modern hospitality. The town is filled with fascinating, rich culture and tradition lasting over one thousand years. It is the perfect gateway to Saadani National Park, the only Tanzania National Park located at the coast.

  Walking tour to historical buildings
Discover the cultural heritage of Pangani by exploring ruins and monuments, the historical river front, the Asian quarters, India Street, the German post office and custom House, the slave market, the British Hospital and German cemetery. The architecture of Pangani reflects the influence of the Arab, Asian, German, and British historical presence in East Africa. Two hours and thirty minutes package.

Fishing with the local fishermen
For centuries, Pangani fishermen navigated through the Indian Ocean. Enjoy day fishing in a traditional dhow. This is six hours tour.

Cycle to the silver sand beaches of Ushongo

Getting there

Pangani is located 47km South of Tanga and 42km south- east of Muheza. The area is accessible by daily flights from Arusha, Dar es Salaamand Zanzibaralso boats and buses but we make it comfortable with Safari cars.
